Jamie, weird stuff always happens to me whenever I go to Kohl's. It's not like I go that often, but I had bought something to wear to a wedding, and I had to return it. So I went back to the store, and you know how places will have kind of the little maze of shit before you get to the register, so that you impulse buy, right? So I'm walking through that maze, and I'm not stopping to look at anything. I'm just walking at a regular pace. This fucking lady comes up and like power walks around me. Oh my god! Isn't it weird? I know. Thank you. I was like, this is weird, right?
Speaker 2 01:00
So she cut you in line.
Speaker 1 01:02
Yeah, she. I mean, and I'm actually kind of a fast walker because when I'm out in public, I'm like, okay, I have shit to do. Yeah, I don't want to
Speaker 2 01:09
be here. I want to go home. I don't
Speaker 1 01:10
want to be at Kohl's. I don't need this fucking dress anymore. Yeah. So she just fucking power walked by me, and yeah, she technically did cut me in line. She had to return to. Yeah, fucking bitch. You're listening. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. Damn.
Speaker 2 01:27
Yeah. What a what a entitled the fucking Karen asshole shithead. Yeah.
Speaker 1 01:34
Guess which generation she was from.
Speaker 2 01:37
Does it start with the Z or I'm sorry, X or wait wait
Speaker 1 01:42
B
Speaker 2 01:44
Boomer. Yeah. Okay, I was thinking of whatever's just after Boomer, which is Gen X are
Speaker 1 01:49
a little yeah.
Speaker 2 01:50
Okay,
Speaker 1 01:51
they can be a little odd, but yeah, Boomers are the crazy ones. But
Speaker 2 01:56
yeah, I feel like Gen X is not like you know Boomers suck. I feel like Gen Xers though kind of have like a buildup. Yeah, like I'll be silent until I get fucking pissed. Exactly.
Speaker 1 02:10
Yeah, and then for some reason, Gen Z is like back to boomer. I don't know why.
Speaker 2 02:17
History repeats itself. Oh yeah, I think
Speaker 1 02:19
my theory is that they have, they love vapes, and there's a lot of like metal and vapes. So maybe they have like
Speaker 2 02:27
oh the same thing that like the boomers have. Oh, that's a good theory. Yeah,
Speaker 1 02:32
we have lots of theories here on the Nervous Laughter Podcast.
Speaker 2 02:36
Yeah, I'm Jamie.
Speaker 1 02:37
Welcome. I'm Alyssa.
Speaker 2 02:39
Thanks for tuning in. Yes. Are you brain poisoned by lead?
Speaker 1 02:47
If so, you'll love our show.
Speaker 2 02:48
Yeah. And you know what you do when you you're you know out shopping at Kohl's.
Speaker 1 02:55
What's that?
Speaker 2 02:56
You usually might stop for you know a little snacky or some lunch or something while you're out, and so today I'm gonna chat a little bit about just a few different, you know, kind of like fast food rumory kind of things.
Speaker 1 03:14
Okay. Okay.
Speaker 2 03:15
This kind of sprung up because of my cousin. He wrote in and was like, oh, have you heard about the Chuck E. Cheese recycle thing? And so I was like, ooh, that that, but also some other things that kind of made me think about. So thank you, thank you, Stephen, for writing in. And also shout out to your lovely wife, Jessica. Reads lots of cool books. Respect your librarian. Oh yeah, for sure. I don't know why I just like to pose with like my arms crossed and my eyes closed. Like yeah, it's probably consistent. Check
Speaker 1 03:53
yourself before you wreck yourself. We're like we're gonna do some like
Speaker 2 03:56
I don't know. But yeah, let's make reading cool again because there's too many people that can't read anymore. So let's make it make it a fad so all the girlies and all the boys want to read. Yes. Ah, so let's yeah talk about the Chuck E. Cheese recycling thing. So in short, sounds like this has been kind of a longstanding rumor on the internet, according to an article by Today.com, it had been even been talked about on good old Yahoo Answers, which is always fun to get to look through those.
Speaker 1 04:36
Yes,
Speaker 2 04:36
and quote in 2018, the chain posted a start to finish video of its pizza making process, which prompted many surprised reactions from people who thought the changes served reheated frozen pies. In 2019, YouTuber Shane Dawson ew boo Shane Dawson ew. He dropped a video in February 2019 that had this conspiracy in it, and I, you know, really just made the rumor pop off from there. So just to read a couple excerpts from the rest of the article, Dawson claims he first noticed the mismatched slices at the mismatched slices. Why is it hard to say
Speaker 1 05:26
mismatched slices? Yeah, just
Speaker 2 05:28
mismatch.
Speaker 1 05:30
Move move. This must be
Speaker 3 05:32
a
Speaker 2 05:32
bulls bull or no? Oh
Speaker 1 05:34
yeah. Bowls of
Speaker 2 05:37
boiling oil. Or
Speaker 1 05:38
maybe it's like a yardstart thing where they're kind of close, and and
Speaker 2 05:42
my brain just wants to yeah, the s's and okay, uh, the mismatched slices as a kid, and that one the and that one time his family even received a pizza that had a lone vegetarian slice wedged into their order on a half cheese half pepperoni pizza. He points to numerous photos others have posted of their meals and that allegedly came from Chuck E. Cheese's. "Quote: I went there a lot as a kid, and it was always like displaced pizzas. Dawson says in the video. Yeah, fucking slap him. The YouTuber eventually heads to a Chuck E. Cheese's with a few buddies, orders a pizza, which does appear to arrive with some uneven slices, and then proclaims that he's pretty sure old pieces have been reassembled. When reached via email, a representative from the restaurant issued the following statement to Today Food: "Quote the claims made in this the claims made in this video about Chuck E. Cheeses and our pizza is unequivocally false. No conspiracies here. Our pizzas are made fresh to order, and we prepare our dough fresh in restaurant, which means that they're not always perfectly uniform in shape, but always delicious. Yum! Which, I mean, I've had Chuck E. Cheese pizza before, and I'd never recall it being really like that. But I don't know.
Speaker 4 07:19
It just
Speaker 2 07:20
kind of just seems like one of those like fun internet gag, like let's keep it going, funny things.
Speaker 1 07:28
Yeah, I remember seeing an explanation about why sometimes they looked weird, but now I can't remember what it
Speaker 2 07:35
is. Yeah, I saw. I think the article has something on it because it was like a Reddit poster had said it was something with like how you're cutting it. I guess if you're going like fast and if it's like uneven surfaces. Let me see. On Reddit, user Imball 98 offered a possible explanation for the strangely shaped pizzas, commenting that it could be due to human error, especially if someone in the kitchen is new at cutting pizzas. Sliding pizza slices from a hot pan onto a serving plate may also account for some of the uneven spacing. So yeah, it sounds like it just you know, depends on who's doing it and blah blah blah.
Speaker 1 08:24
Yeah, I remember people talking about this with chips at Mexican restaurants. Like, oh, really? Just like take all the chips and like put them in a basket. I'm like, okay, racism. That's not true.
Speaker 2 08:40
Yeah. What? Yeah. Uh. Yeah. That's uh. That's pretty dumb. Um, and another one. Uh, Wendy's uses old burgers for their chili.
Speaker 1 08:55
Uh, you know what? I don't care. That chili's good.
Speaker 2 08:59
And you know, I so whenever I heard that rumor, I had pictured it like I don't know, like you go to Burger King and they have all like you they open that little like drawer. There's all like the meat patties in there. I was like, oh, it's all like the like one or two day old like meat patties from there. But it's a little different than what I thought. It is true. Um, so this is from Chowhound. Basically, they just kind of Chowhound Chow on down with the Chowhound in the baby. It's like a radio show. Um. So yeah, basically, kind of just explains how you know the founder Dave Thomas, he's really kind of into like being frugal and just
Speaker 1 09:52
sustainability.
Speaker 2 09:53
Yeah, yeah, cutting down on on waste, which I think just kind of goes along with frugality, and. Marketing and stuff. So you know, there's things like, like I guess they did like a salad bar and stuff, and just some other things like that. But one of the things they do is, I guess they they use a fresh ground beef, which I didn't know. I just assumed that it was just like fucking Burger King or McDonald's. So, quote: He launched the burger chain and included chili on the Wendy's menu using fresh ground beef instead of frozen meat was a cornerstone of the brand's identity and marketing strategy. But fresh beef doesn't last as long as frozen meat, so Thomas created chili to cut down on food waste. Hell yeah! It was meant that Wendy's, unlike Burger King or McDonald's, featured chili as a permanent menu item, helping it set itself apart. And I mean, you know, it's it's still popular. They're chili, and the founder wrote. People have often asked me why we had chili on the menu from the start. He wrote in 1992, "It's real easy. What do you do with leftover hamburger? He worked hard on getting the recipe just right through marathon cooking sessions. So yeah, that's how the Wendy's chili came to be.
Speaker 1 11:25
Hell yeah, more people should do stuff like that.
Speaker 2 11:27
Yeah, I I respect that. Respect not wasting all that shit. Um, and the last one I have is Taco Bell is less than 35% ground beef. Oh yeah, I
Speaker 1 11:44
forgot about this one.
Speaker 2 11:45
Yeah. So this was when was this? 2011. Yes. So this was 2011, and basically, this guy I will probably come across his name soon, but he sued Taco Bell, claiming the product only contained 35% meat. He claimed it also contained binders and extenders, thickeners, bulking bulking agents, and does not have enough meat to be called quote beef. The company denied the claims, saying it's 88% beef, and they said, "quote Thank you for suing us. Here's the truth about our seasoned beef. The advert placed by the company reads, adding that the USDA inspected quality beef accounts for almost 90% of the meat content in its taco spilling. According to the Associated Press, the law firm's representative D. Miles said test had found that the filling contained only 35% beef. Yeah, so that was like a or D Miles. That was the Alabama law firm who was bringing the case forward. That was their claim. It was 35% and yeah, they're like, nope, it's not. I haven't tested it myself. I haven't looked at the test results, so I don't know. But just kind of based off some little reading, it is not 35% beef, and it is more. That's good. Yeah, yeah. I always think about that when I go to Taco Bell. I'm just like, oh, I'm eating like whatever this is, but it's not meat. But hey, it is. It is meat. Turns out. But I know it does have a bunch of like binders and shit in it because it or it does have gluten.
Speaker 4 13:39
Oh, so
Speaker 2 13:39
like I know that there's other shit in there for sure.
Speaker 1 13:42
I do think that wasn't Taco Bell on some list where it's actually one of the healthier fast foods.
Speaker 2 13:49
Oh yeah, I don't know. I know that they had. I think
Speaker 1 13:52
it was.
Speaker 2 13:54
I think especially probably after they did the their
Speaker 1 13:59
Fresca,
Speaker 2 14:00
their like Fresca menu or whatever,
Speaker 1 14:02
or whatever the
Speaker 2 14:04
fuck. But yeah, I think there's this guy Will Tennyson. I think he also did like a video on that, and it wasn't actually like that bad, like just eating like just Taco Bell, if you made the right choices, of course, not just eating like.
Speaker 1 14:19
Yeah, I mean, really, it's just like meat, beans, cheese, vegetables, unless you're getting like, you know, the fake cheese and whatever. Yeah,
Speaker 2 14:30
it's
Speaker 1 14:30
not too bad.
Speaker 2 14:31
Yeah, it's really not that bad.
Speaker 1 14:33
Again, racism. Yeah, yeah, it just happens. Non-white cultures is unhealthy by default.
Speaker 2 14:41
Well, I will say I don't know if a non-white culture would claim Taco Bell as their creation, but but yes, yes, exactly.
Speaker 1 14:55
My wokeness got ahead of
Speaker 2 14:58
me. Woke down my. For a second, whoa, laughing.
Speaker 1 15:04
But I like follow different dietitians, and they'll talk about that. And I'm like, yeah, that's a good fucking point. Like, oftentimes you'll still see people bitchering about stuff that's unhealthy, and it's like, no, it's just not like fucking bullshit.
Speaker 2 15:20
Yeah, that kind of happened with like a lot of Asian food with like MSG. Yeah, and was like, no, MSG is fine, and everyone's like,
Speaker 5 15:27
ah, we
Speaker 2 15:30
can't eat Chinese food because it has MSG. It has this
Speaker 1 15:33
thing that's a chemical, even though everything is chemicals everywhere. I get Botox in my face. H
Speaker 5 15:39
2o, I could drown. Exactly. Oh
Speaker 1 15:41
stupid. Yeah. Well, if you decide while you're out shopping at Kohl's that maybe you don't want fast food, maybe you want something a little more elevated. Want to have a sit down meal? I found a place for you. Oh, I don't know why my brain was like red lobster. I don't even like seafood very much. This is a special type of restaurant, so I'm gonna let you watch this video.
Speaker 6 16:15
The first Monday of every month, we have our host our new dinner, where guests can come and just take their clothes off and have a great dinner.
Speaker 4 16:22
Ali says the blinds go down and the clothes come off. Nestled in the heart of Hollywood is Class Steakhouse Soiree. Owner and chef Murad Ali says they've been up and running for about eight years.
Speaker 6 16:36
It's legal because the windows are completely blacked out. No one can see from outside. Our staff are fully clothed, so there's no entertainment from us. The entertainment is just dinner.
Speaker 4 16:48
He says the idea came after the restaurant hosted a private party for nudists.
Speaker 6 16:53
Once the event was finished, my idea said, "Let's do it ourselves.
Speaker 4 16:58
Now the experience is open to adults with a five-course meal and a few extra layers of cleanliness,
Speaker 6 17:04
we have a robe that everyone is offering. We have a leather seat cushion, which is sanitized, and we also have a laptow.
Speaker 4 17:13
And the concept may not be for everyone, but Ali says that's exactly the point.
Speaker 2 17:19
Oh, gross! So, what do you think? I I know he said that the seats are sanitized, but I would just not just just never. Yeah, yeah. That's like a bring your own chair situation. I don't know. Just like the nude air would still be there the next day. You know what I mean? That
Speaker 1 17:45
sounds like something a Christian mom would say. All the nudity
Speaker 2 17:53
exercise at the place. The devil was here. The part that makes me laugh. Is
Speaker 1 18:01
that he says that everyone will be offered a robe? Like at that point, why don't you just wear clothes? Yeah, like
Speaker 2 18:08
yeah. I I also I don't know why. I mean, obviously the seats bug me, but also like people aren't wearing shoes probably, or if they are wearing shoes, it's just weird because you're already naked and you're just wearing shoes. So that's a good point. Either option is just not good.
Speaker 1 18:31
You know, I feel like this wouldn't really bother me. Like I'm not saying I want to do it, but if I happen to go to a restaurant and they're like, "Hey, it's new to night. Is that okay? I think I would be like, "That's fine. But the seats really do bother me.
Speaker 2 18:49
Yeah, it bothers me too. Like, I wish they would rather just do that in a separate room or something. Like, if they just like blacked that room, like you know how they were talking about blacking out the windows or whatever, so people can't see in. I you could just fucking run it 24/7 as long as they're just naked in there and just don't put a naked body on my chair. Like I'm cool with with it.
Speaker 1 19:13
I mean, we live in the south. Everyone is fucking swamp ass all the time.
Speaker 4 19:17
Yeah.
Speaker 1 19:18
So like that swamp ass is directly on that seat,
Speaker 2 19:22
and you know that like people that don't like wipe their butthole very well. Yeah, hairy dude butts with dingleberries that are like I don't know, just too too unsanitary for my liking, if I want to eat at a restaurant, smell it. Smells like tits. Smells like tits and dicks. It is
Speaker 1 19:57
very strange and. Also, I mean, are you? How are you getting naked? Are you changing in the bathroom? I mean, obviously you have to wear clothes in. So are you wearing a robe and you just get in there and you're like,
Speaker 2 20:14
like, Grandma, it's me, Anastasia. I don't know if you watch Anastasia, but yeah, there's a a lady that like drops her trench coat.
Speaker 4 20:27
Grandma, it's me, Anastasia.
Speaker 2 20:32
Um, yeah, no, I don't know. Do they just get to the chair and then they're just like, time to strip everybody, and then they like put on like disco lights, and then everyone just like strips, and then has a nice meal.
Speaker 1 20:50
Yeah, the the visuals are the least of my concerns. Whatever, I mean, I don't care. But yeah, logistical concerns.
Speaker 2 21:00
Yeah,
Speaker 1 21:01
but I wonder if you get really good tips if you're working that night because people are like, "Yeah, I love eating dinner with my dick out. I'm gonna tip you 40%
Speaker 2 21:10
I wonder if they get good tits while they're oh yeah good tips, good tits. Um, oh yeah, no, they probably. I don't know. I feel like they probably would because I feel like it would be people that would be mostly like going out on a date, and someone would want to impress someone else and be like, you know, here's a heavy tip, or maybe being horny there leads you to tipping more. Oh, you know, who knows? Maybe so. Could be something connected there. I did see like some different parts of that a little bit. Oh, I don't think I saw like a full cut of it, but the the lady was like, I can't remember what she asked, but she was like, "Do you like like looking at the people or whatever? And he was like, "No, no! And I was like, "Have you did do you quicken the nude at all for this? No, just like, bro, you could have just been like, no, that would be unprofessional or something. But just no, look at like, oh,
Speaker 1 22:15
that would be dangerous. Get like an oil splatter from the fryer. Oh
Speaker 2 22:19
yeah, get your dick popped with some fucking hot oil. Ooh,
Speaker 1 22:26
well, it's been a very eventful day on our shopping and dining trip. I'll tell you, yeah,
Speaker 2 22:32
wine and dine and get your dick popped or your tit popped with some oil. But yeah, thanks for listening. Don't forget to tip your servers well. Don't forget to like, follow, subscribe, comment anywhere you you listen.
Speaker 1 22:50
Yes. If you want some stickers, let us know. We'll send them your way.
Speaker 2 22:56
Yeah.
Speaker 1 22:59
Party on!
Speaker 2 23:00
Party on!
